2008 Door County Cherry Crop Print E-mail

Unfortunate 2008 Door County Cherry Crop

Door County is known for the bountiful cherry crop every July, but unfortunately the 2008 crop does not look promising.  Due to drought conditions during the summer of 2007, extreme cold temperatures during the winter, and dismal blossoms in the spring, there will be less than a 10% cherry crop in Door County.

But no need to worry!  There are plenty of frozen Door County cherries in storage.  Wienke's Market has a plentiful supply of cherries to continue making our Cherry Jam, Cherry Pie Filling, and all of our wonderful cherry products.

Available at Wienke's Market

Although Wienke's Market does not offer "pick your own" cherries, we do have a plentiful supply of already picked fresh Door County cherries during the cherry season.
